A FALL CYCLING ASSESSMENT CAMP in Hood River Oregon September 20-23, 2007
ITENERARY
September 19th:
Athletes arrive at Portland International airport and transported to Best Western Hood River Inn. www.hoodriverinn.com The travel time to the hotel is approximately 1hour and it is recommended that you arrive in the afternoon to early evening.
Dinner not provided but we may eat in Portland depending on the arrival times.
After arrival at hotel bikes assembled by mechanic and checked over for the ride the next day.
September 20th:
6:00am -9:00am breakfast provided by the Host Hotel
9:45-10:00am Athletes meet for ride
10am-2pm Ride leaves Hood River Inn, endurance pace 3-4hr ride with functional lactates taken throughout to obtain training pace according to heartrate and power. Ride loop to be determined yet but full sag wagon support will be available, with mechanic and massage therapist.
2pm-3pm Lunch provided by camp staff
3pm -6pm Massage for 2-3 athletes
4pm -6pm Athletes not getting a massage will have 1/2hr consults with Bart to discuss season, goals and training.
6pm -7:30pm Dinner
7:30pm-9pm Training principles talk by Bart Bowen
September 21st:
7am-9am Breakfast provided by the host hotel
9:45 am meet for ride
10am-2pm Ride leaves- Climbing ride 3-4 hrs with functional
lactates taken throughout to obtain training pace according to
heartrate and power. Ride will go over many small forest service
roads in the Mt Hood area. Full sag wagon support will be available,
with mechanic and massage therapist.
2pm-3pm Lunch provided by camp staff
3pm -6pm Massage for 2-3 athletes
4pm -6pm Athletes not getting a massage will have 1/2hr consults
with Bart to discuss season, goals and training.
6:30-7:30 Dinner
7:30pm-9pm Bike fit and pedaling efficiency demonstration by
Andy Fecteau and Bart Bowen.
September 22nd:
7am-9am Breakfast provided by the host hotel
9:45 am meet for ride
10am-2pm Ride leaves- Climbing ride 3-4 hrs with functional

September 23nd:
7-8:30m Breakfast provided by Host Hotel
9:15am meet for ride
9:30-12:30 Tempo ride 2-3hrs with functional lactates taken
throughout to obtain training pace according to heartrate and
power we will also work on group riding skills. Full sag wagon
support will be available, with mechanic and massage therapist.
1-2pm lunch provided by Rebound SPL
1-4pm Bikes packed and riders taken to Portland International
Airport according to flight schedule.
